COMPENSATION.
To the Editor. Sir, —In Monday's "News" Mr. Enroth asks if in the event of no-license being carried without compensation, will the' no-license people allow the socialists to step in and treat their .property in like manner? The answer to that is simple, and is that just as soon as Mr. Enroth or the Socialist can show that the property and business of the no-ldcense party have wrought the havoc anl ruined the lives of the .people in the way the liquor trade has, then they, if not willing of their own free will, would have to submit to the will of the people in having measures enacted that the State or people consirtered would 'be for the benefit and uplifting of the people as a whole. The proposition is a safe one and Mr. Enroth will have to propound some other proposal before he has a hope of scoring.—l am, etc., SAFETY.
