BUTCHER'S SUDDEN DEATH.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Charles Tunniclitt'e, a butcher working at Johnsonville, died suddenly at 2 p.m. yesterday, presumably from heart failure. Deceased was a married man.

A TRAP FATALITY.

Diraedin, Last Night. A woman named Harriet L. Love, aged lil years, wife of Mannaduke Love, of North-East Valley, was the victim of a fatal accident shortly after 5 o'clock last night Mrs. Love ana a number of other people were standing in George-street, near Frederick-street, apparently waiting for a tramcar, when a trap with three occupants, driven by a- man najned J. Hunt, approached. Mrs. Love was knocked down and was taken to,the hospital, where she died soon after. Hunt states that he slowed down to a walking pace. He did not see deceased, and was not aware of the acci-l dent until informed that the woman had been knocked down. DEATH UNDER CHLOROFORM. Dunedin, Last Night. A woman named Catherine Hill, 35 years of age, whose husband is a packer in Messrs. Butterworth's', died yesterday afternoon while undergoing an operation) for miscarriage. Dr. Newiands administered the chloroform and Dr. Moore was performing the opera-' tion. As soon as it was seen that something was wrong, means were taken to restore animation, but tlmse were unsuccessful, though continued for nearly an hour. Dr. Moore, who treated Wie deceased five years ago for an accident, was well aware of her condition for the operation, which was absolutely necessary. Deceased leaves a family ol six children.

SUDDEN DEATH. Dunedin, Last Night. John O'Donnel, groom or laborer, aged 25 years, died suddenly on Saturday afternoon. Deceased, who lived in Yorkterrace, off King-street, was married and leaves four children, the eldest being four years old. At the inquest a verdict of death from heart disease was returned.
