FEDERAL FINANCES. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright, Sydney, July 2. The State Premiers are surprised at Mr. Fisher's action in delaying the return of June moneys. The Victorian Treasurer states that he would not be averse to helping the Commonwealthh out of a difficulty, although it would somewhat complicate the State finances. Melbourne, July 2. Several members questioned the legality., of Mr. Fisher using trust moneys, even temporarily, to meet a deficit. Mr. Fisher's reply was that the Government thought better to use funds actually in their possession than borrow money and pay interest on it.
