REPLACING SCHOOLS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The Education Board to-day had before it a fetter from the Department to the effect that £57 would be allowed the Board for reinstating the school at Lakeside destroyed toy fire, and that an additional allowance of £BO would be made in view of the increased si?e of the new 'building. The letter also stated that the department's liability in regard to replacing the school was only fifteen per cent. The Board decided to inform the Department that it could not carry on work if it had the responsibility of replacing buildings destroyed by fire on the basis laid down by the Department.
