The Daily Mail's Victoria (British Columbia) correspondent reports that -free milling gold ; has' been found ,in pockets extending over thirty miles of jjoryphry reef at Bitter Creek, near the Stewart mining camp at the head of the Portland Canal.

The Toronto Globe states that within an h'our the town of Stewart was, deeerted. Waiters dropped their trays and builders their trowels. The reef has 'been traced for twenty miles without ending.
