SEARCH UNSUCCESSFUL.

The steamer Wakefield, which was sent in search of the missing Waratah, to arrived. She reports that ,«ot a vestige of wreckage was seen during her search. The whole cruise was characterised Iby gales. , Lieutenants Seymour, of the cruiser Hermes, with five navy men, formed a search iparty which visited the Marion, Twelve Apostles, Crozets, Possession, Iverguelen, Saint Paul, Amsterdam, and other islands. At Marion Island the weather was so bail that the boat was smashed by the surf. The Wakefield had to leave the party ashore five days till weather moderated.
