The Paris-Genville express collided with a slow train standing at Villepreux, westward of Versailles, telescoping the carriages. The engine was derailed, and the restaurant car caught fire, lighting the other carriages. The fire brigades were hampered for lack of water. Ten were killed and twenty-five injured.
