PETROLEUM NEWS.
TARAXAKI COMPANY. At Xo. 1 bore of the Taranaki Petroleum Company the whole of the casing lias been removed. A considerable portion of it was found to be badly damaged, as was reported some time ago. At Xo. 2 the 2»/ s -ineh pump has been inserted. This well has been flowing since Thursday evening. Xo. 3 is down to a depth of 2008 ft. Drilling is still 'being proceeded with, everything working ver- satisfactorily.
