FIRES.
OUTBREAK IN WELLINGTON. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Yesterday. At 3 o'clock this morning a fire liroke out in a cottage in Franklin Avenue. Before the flames were suppressed, it and two other houses were damaged. The oceu.pants of otic escaped in their night clothes. The houses were owned by Dwan Bros., and were insured in the South British for £9OO. THE DUNEDIN FIRE. Dunedin, Yesterday. The insurances on last night's lire are:—On building, £SOO in the New Zealand; on the stock, Chambers avid Son, £(i000 in the Commercial Union and Australian Alliance. The damage is between £3OOO and £4OOO. Asi in and Bedford had £l5O in the Standard; damage, £4OO.
