WOMAN COLLIDES WITH A TEA IN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Timaru, Last Night. At the adjourned inquest, held at Temuka this afternoon on the body of Mrs. Charlotte Fildes, who was run into at a crossing by the express train on May 31, the Coroner brought in a verdict of accidental death. The evidence showed that the driver and the fireman on the express had taken eveyr precaution, including a special whistle warning, an the deceased got cloise to the line. The external injuries were shown not to'be very serious, consisting -of flesh wounds on one arm and the head, and Mr#.Fildes was conscious the whole time. Death resulted from shock, as she was a nervous, delicate woman. THE MTRAMAR FATALITY. INQUEST ADJOURNED. Wellington, Last Night. An inquest was commenced to-day onthe 'body of James Phillips, who was killed through a fall of earth at Miramaron Monday. Robert Sanders, one of the contractors, said that deceased was foreman and was thoroughly competent, having had experience of similar work for some years.. The inquest was adjourned to enable the Coroner (Mr. Haselden, S.M.) to,yisit the scene of the fatality. =- .
