INGLEWOOD NOTES

(From Our Own Correspondent.) A dance, organised by the Hockey Club, which took the form of a farewell to Mr. J. Robinson, was held in the Druids' Hall on Thursday evening. There was >a large attendance, especially of the fairer sex, and everything passed off successfully. Messrs R. Spurdle and Vandyke supplied excellent music, which was much appreciated by the dancers.' At about 10.30 an excellent supper was handed round, after wfoicih Mr. H. A. iStratford, vice-president of the club, announced that, owing to the absence ot ■the president, a very pleasant duty had fallen on him. He had, he said, to wish "Good luck and God speed" to one of the members of the Hockey Club, and he felt sure that everyone present joined with him in this wish. During the time that Mr. Robinson had been connected with the club he toad proved himself a worker, one who was always ready to do his share and a little more. Mr. Robinson was leaving Inglewood to take up a position in the railway at New Plymouth, and it was his, and, he felt sure, everyone's earnest wish that his promotion in his new sphere of life might be rapid, might 'be, in fact, of express speed. Ho then asked Mr. Robinson to accept a handsome pocket .book from his numerous hockey associates and friends. "For lie's a jolly good fellow" was then soing with spirit, and afterwards dancing was continued until 11.30, when an adjournment was made to enable members to snatch a few hours' sleep to prepare for the strenuous games of next dav. Mr. E. Henderson, assisted by Mr.'M. W. Priest, made an efficient M.C.
