CHANNEL AGAIN CROSSED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright London, June 2. The Hon. C. P. Rolls started from Dover at 6.30 a.m., arrived at Calai at 7, circled for ten minutes above the semaphore station and, without landing, restarted and reached Dover again at 8.5 a.m. The Aveather was perfect. DOVER FOLK DELIGHTED. Received June 3, 10.30 p.m. London, June 3. The Hon, C. S. Rolls during his flight quickly rose 600 ft. The highest point reached was 1000 ft. Three torpedoers followed. The aviator ihad no trouble in steering, but the wind caused a deviation of his •biplane. He circled round the semaphore station at Sangate, not Calais. The biplane was fitted with airlbags as a safeguard in case of immersion. There was immense excitement at Dover when the crowds realised that Mr. Rolls was unexpectedly returning. The biplane circled round the castle and alighted sixty yards from his shed. The only prize attached to the flight ig an eighty-guinea cup.
