MOBILISATION ORDERS.
KING'S BIRTHDAY OPERATIONS. Major Ma lone, Acting-Lieutenant-Col-onel of the 4th Battalion Wellington Infantry Territorials, has issued the lollowing operation orders in connection with the mobis'ilation and manoeuvres on Friday:— 1. The battalion will mobilise and be concentrated at Stratford Railway station yard -at 8.45 a.m. on June 3, 1910, and will on that day, in the vicinity of Stratford, carry out the operations detailed in paragraph 5 hereof. 2. The following appointments to the battalion stall' for June 3, li) 10, -re hereby made: Captain F. T. Bellringer to be acting-Major; Captain C. T. Mills to be aeting : Adjuntant; Captain J. W. McMillan (active list) to be Transport Officer; and Q.M. Sergeant Lister to be acting-Transport Sergeant: as well as Q.M. Sergeant. I 3. Officers commanding companies respectively will (a) effect complete company mobilisation (with (baggage) at their respective- company centres at the time o'clock one half hour immediately prior to the time o'clock appointed by paragraph 4 hereof for the entraining of- their repsective companies; (b) on this special occasion, after verification of the completeness of the equipment of every member of their respective companies present, store, at their respective centres (until the return of their respective companies from the day's operations) the baggage part of such equipment except pannikins, which will be carried by the men; (e) not issue or allow to be carried any ball ammunition; (d) not telegraph, tout will report in writing to the officer commanding battalion at Stratford railway station on June 3, 1910, at 8.45 a.m., as to completeness or otherwise of mobilisation of their respective companies. 4. The respective companies of the battalion will entrain on June 3, 1910, at their respective railway stations a* follows:—New Plymouth, 7.10 a.m. (express); Waitara, 7.5 a.m. (express); In'glewood, 7.59 a.m. (express); Hawera, 7.20 a.m. (ordinary); Eltham. 8.10 a.m. (ordinary); and will re-entrain for their respective centres on the same day at times o'clock to be then appointed./ 5. We operations' of the day will be: (a) Entrapment and detrainmeht of troops; (b) encampment; (c) a march and protection on the march (i.e., ad-vance-guard, flank guard and rear guard)" r ; (d) reconnaissance of a marked enemy's position; (e) battalion attack on stich position.
' 6. Officers commanding companies; will see that 50 rounds blank ammunition are carried by every man of their respective companies, for use during operations'. 7. The Officer Commanding Battalion desires to ascertain for guidance and use in future operations, appointments and promotions, the., military knowledge and special aptitude of every member of the 'battalion. Officers commanding companies will therefore see that their respective subordinates, including competent privates, carry note books and writing and sketching materials for the writing of orders and of reports, as the case mav be.
