The retiring president's address, while congratulatory of the substantial increase in the church membership and attendance, deplored the falling off in the Sunday schools. Ca the three years period there was a loss of scholars, but there was some comfort in the tact that every conference for the last year reported an increase, the total being 2327. On the whole the laws were an expression of the people's thought by Acts of Parliament was, however, little hope of enforcement unless the people were behind them. INCREASE IN MEMBERSHIP.
