The French, submarine Pluvoise sank in the Channel, and her crew were drowned, by coming into collision with the South-tEas'tern Railway Company's steamer Pas de Calais. London, Ma. 20. The Pas' de Calais carried 280 passengers. Her bows were badly damaged, and she was obliged to return to Calais. STRUCK WHEN RISING. INDICATIONS OF AN EXPLOSION. Received May 27, 9.40 p.m. London, May 27. The Pluvoise was rising from a dive when she was struck. She floated lor ten minutes with nine feet of her bows above the water. A boat was launched and boarded the vessel. The crew knocked the decK plates, but did not receive a reply. The Pluvoise then sank. There were indications that the naptha reservoir burst. The spirits were seen bubbling and floating on tne surface. A BIG HOLE. THE CREW PERISH INSTANTLY. Received May 27, 10.40 p.m. London, May 27. The diver found the submarine Pluvoise was badly holed aft and full of water. He Knocked on the bow compartment, but there was no response. Experts consider the crew .perished instantly.
