AUSTRALIAN ANTI-TRUST ACT
ALLEGED BREACHES. COAL AND SHIPPING COMPANIES INVOLVED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received May 20, 10.35 p.m. Sydney, Lust Night. Writs have been issued against certain coal and shipping companies charging them wil.h breaches of the Australian Industries Act. The writs are three in number. The first is against the coal vend and shipping combine, and the firms forming them, for offences against the AntiTrust Act in connection with their control of the trade in coal. The second writ is a!i;r:i-: the coal vend and the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand in connection with the joint control of the coal trade between Newcastle and New Zealand and Tasmania, and in connection with the shipping between New Zealand and Tasmania.
The third writ is against the coal vend in connection with persons at London and elsewhere and their control of the foreign coal trade. The suits will be brought in the Hi.srh Court. The writs are returnable from the Court in fourteen to twenty-eight da vs.
