The highest score so far made in the Daily Mall Cup is by Granville Cflllesre, Sydney, namely, 812. Then Langport (Somerset) with 805, Hull being next with 795. ■Sydney, May 25. Firing for the Earl of Meath's trophy, the Sydney cadets scored vol. In the Daily Mail prize contest the Goulburn ambulance team made 801, out as check scores were not provided the scores cannot count. Brisbane. May 25. The Railway Rifle Club team put up 703, and the Seventh Regiment team, firing at Ballarat, made 740. THE TREXTHAM RANGE. By Telegra.ph—Press Association. Wellington, Wednesday. Colonel Collins stated last nignt that the necessary works to complete the Trentham range had been authorised by the Government, and instructions had been given to put fche \vGrk in .hand at once. The improvements included further extension of the Somerville range, the erection of thirteen Ralston targets on the Somerville butts, the removal of the present buildings to the rear, enlargement of the messroom, making up new firing mounds in the .Seddon range to .permit of firing being carried on at 200. 300, 500, and 600 yards, the construction of a new kitchen and baker's oven, water supply extension, and completion of telephone extension. There will be accommodation for 75 targets at 200, 300, 500, and 600 yards, and aO targets for 800, 000, and iOOO yards.
