PEACE CONFEDERATION.
THE KAISER'S UTTERANCES. PROMPTED BY MR. ROOSEVELT. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received May zfL 9.30 p.m. May 25. M. Lovlind, pretwdent of the Nooel Peace Committee at Christiana, accepts Le Matin's statement regarding the Kaiser's conversation re the formation of a powerful peace confederation among the nations, and states the conversation is all the more probable, as the Kaiser bad just met ex-President Roosevelt at Berlin. While Mr. Roosevelt was at Christiana he uttered the same idea. The new point is, says M. Lovlind, that' the most prominent statesmen are seri- , ously discussing the question. The difficulties are many and great, but tlie | statesmen who solve the problem in a practical form will earn a greater name in history than the founders of any of the great States. "EDWARD THE PEACEMAKER." Received May 25, 11' p.m. London, May 25. The Peace Society held a notable gathering at the Guild Hall. Mr. Andrew Carnegie paid a warm tribute to the late King Edward, amid cheers. Sir William Mathers proposed that the Society should present a bust of King Edward to the Temple of Peace at the Hague. !
