BARQUE SINKS A STEAMER. TWENTY-TWO LIVES LOST. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright London, May 24. The German barque Vinuen, bound from Hamburg to Mexico, collided with and sank the steamer Skerryvore, 'bound from Villaricos (Spain) to Rotter.!.un. Twenty-two of those on board ike ..itcer were drowned. A TERRIFIC EXPLOSION. STEAMER SINKS IN THREE MINUTES. ONLY ONE SURVIVOR. Received May 25, 10 p.m. London, May 25. The Skerryvore crossed the Vinnen's bows at night time. The sea was choppy, and the impact, which came abaft the mainmast, was followed by a terrific explosion of the boilers. Most of the crew were in their bunks. The .Skerryvore foundered in three minutes. The Vinnen's boats were instantly lowered. A steward was the only survivor. The majority of the victims, except the officers, were foreigners. NINETEEN LIVES LOST. New York, May 24. The steamer Frank Goodyear sank after a collision in Thunder Bay, LtiKe Michigan, and nineteen persons were drowned. CRUISER'S SAILING BOAT CAPSIZES SIX MEN DROWNED. Received May 25, 10 p.m. London, May 25. The cruiser Gromobors sailing boat capsized off Kronstadt and six were drowned. •
