GIRL BOOT OPERATIVES
DISAGREEMENT IN CHRISTOHURCH. By Telegraph—Press Association. I Christchurch, Last Night. Trouble is said to oe threatened in the boot trade, owing to local manufacturers having dismissed girl employees last Thursday evening, though intimations were given that they would be re-en-gaged on Monday morning. The employees contend that the agreement is only to pay indentured girl apprentices and those engaged for five years for holidays, whilst the Union argues that all "girls are apprentices and entitled to be paid for holidays.
