LOVE AND CUPIDITY. MURDER OF A RUSSIAN COUNT. MURDERERS SENTENCED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received May 22, 5.5 p.m. London, May 20. Sentences in connection with the Venetian murder case were pronounced today. Countess Tarnowska, her lawyer named Prilukoff, a Russian studr.it named Nicholas Naumoff, were found guilty of conspiring in the murder of Count Kamarowski, a wealthy Russian nobleman. Naumoff was sentenced to three years' imprisonment, and thej Countess and Prilukoff to eighteen years'. Liza Perrier was acquitted. This was one of the most dramatic murder trials ever known. The parties had been waiting in prison for two and a half years before being tried. The principal parties in the drama were:— Count Paul Kamarowski, a Russian noble, aged thirty-eight years, who, after executing an insurance policy for £20,000 in favor of Countess Tarnowska, was murdered at his Venetian villa. Nicholas Naumoff, a young Russian, aged twenty-one, who was madly in love with Countess Tarnowska. Incited by jealousy and instigated by the Countess and her lawyers, Philukoff, he was alleged to have shot Count Paul Kamarowski. Countess Marie Tarnowska, a very beautiful woman, who is said to have exercised a terrible fascination. She is now approaching her thirtieth year. Twelve years ago she was married to Count Tarnowska, and had three children two boys and a girl. In 1/903 he divorced 'her. M. Prilukoff. the lawyer, now thirtyseven years of age. While acting for the Countess in her divorce proceedings he became fascinated by her. Liza Perrier, Countess Tarnowska's French maid, who is alleged to have assisted in the plot to kill Count Kamarowski.
