SUPREME COURT.
WELLINGTON SESSIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-ctay, Martin Tier was convicted, chiefly through finger print evidence, •on four charges of burglary. Tier pleaded guilty to two other similar charges. Sentence was deferred.
Ralph Balcombe, a youth, charged with an offence against a little girl, was found not guilty.
It was decided to commence on Monday the rehearing of the case against Davis and Haines, charged with arson, in connection with the Rutland Hotel fire, Wanganui.
After three days' 'hearing, tihe case! for defendants in the Duco insurance claim was concluded in the Supreme Court to-day. Evidence for plaintiffs will begin to-morrow. WELLINGTON SESSIONS. Wellington, Yesterday. In the Supreme Court James Curtin was sentenced to eighteen months' imprisonment for theft of £45.
