THE .-i.vXUAL COMMUNICATION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night, j The sittings of the Masonic Grand Lodge were concluded to-day, M. N. Bro. Griffiths, G.M., presiding. It was agreed that Hie next annual communication be held in Ciiristcliurch, not earlier than the second Wednesday in May 1011. New trustees of the Grand Lodge were appointed for the period of the location of the secretary's office in Wellington, consisting of M.N. Bro. H. J. Williams, R.W. Bro. R. Fletcher, V.W. Bro. A. L. Herdman and W. Bros. H. Seaton and A. Veitch. A lengthy discussion ensued upon a motion by W. Bro. Jolly fat reverse the decision of the Auckland communication of two years ago, which provided that in .case a petition for a charter for a new lodge did not receive the recommendation of the Master and Wardens of one of the two nearest lodges, the matter could ,be brought up and dealt with by the Grand Lodge, and to revert to the former system, whereby the recommendation of one of the two nearest lodges should be indispensable. Eventually the motion was agreed, with an alteration to the effect that the recommendation required was that of the sponsor lodge as a body expressed by resolution. The question of automatic exclusion of members in arrears with their dues was, after debate, referred to the Board of General Purposes fo consideration. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the brethren of the Wellington district for their cordial entertainment of the visitors, together with an expression of regret at the sad circumstances which had necessitated the curtailment of their programme. Another hearty vote of thanks was passed to M.W. Bro. Hix Excellency Lord. Plunket for the valuable services he had rendered to the craft during his four years of Grand Mastership.
