In connection with the murder and mutilation of a woman named Van Damme in the Rue de Botzaris some' months ago, an ex-convict named Ferdiiiard has been arrested; ibut he alleges that the woman died accidentally one night, and he cut up the body fearing suspicion would otherwise fall on him, and he would he sent hack to servitude. RAILWAY MEN'S WAGES. New York, May 5. The arbitrators have awarded the Baltimore and Ohio rate of wages to train men and conductors on the New York lines east of Buffalo, and similarly to the Delaware-Lackawanna, and Dela-ware-Hudson lines. Owing to the increased strength of the- fleet in Home waters the Agammenon and Lord Nelson are .proceeding to the Mediterranean; whence the Triumph and Swiftsure will go to the Far East.
