MURDER IN PARIS.
ARREST OF AN EX-CONVICT. By Cable —Press Association —Copyright. Paris, May u. In connection with the murder and lvutilation of a woman named Van Damme in the Rue de Botzaris some months ago, an ex-convict named Ferdinard has been arrested; but he alleges tlat the woman died accidentally one night, and he cut up'the body fearing suspicion would otherwise fall on him, and Hie would be sent back to servitude. A CONFESSION. Received May 6, 11.15 p.m. Paris, May 6. The police searched SOOO houses in Paris, questioning the concierges. They were finally informed that a quarrel between a man and a woman had been 'heard on the night of the murder in Ferdinand's room. Ferdinand, when arrested, denied the charge, hut the discovery of a key fitting Van Damme's room enabled the Magistrate to force a confession from 'Ferdinand that he strangled Van Damme during some rough .horse play.
