CHANGING THE NAME OF PALMERSTON NORTH. Palmers ton North, Tuesday. At a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce last night a resolution was passed in favor of changing the name "Palmerston North" to 'Manawatu." The matter, however, will be brought up again at the quarterly meeting of the Chamber. A previous proposal was some time ago negatived by the residents, who strenuously objected to any alteration in the name of the town.
