THE EASTERLY GALE.
POSITION OF A SCHOONER. By Telegraph—Press Association. Gisborne, Tuesday. The sea, -which was the heaviest for years, is now moderating somewhat along the East Coast. At Tokonmrn Bay the Farmers' Company's launch was smashed to pieces. The schooner Oreti was lying at anchor in the cove, and when the storm came on both anchors began to drag. The cables parted ami Captain Barnes beached the Vessel. The schooner ran high upon the beach, and the crew were able to step ashore. The vessel is nildamaged and the cargo secure.
