The body of an eight-years-old girl, the daughter of a laborer named Phillips, has been found buried in the bush a short distance from the home where she lived with her parents. There 5.•. a wound on the head and a deep gash in the throat which almost severed the head from the body. The girl was reported missing on Saturday, and the police have since ibeen searching. The body was discovered by a man twho was gathering flowers. He noticed the ground had been recently stirred, and investigations resulted in the discovery of the body. As a result of statements made by Mrs. Phillips and a servant the police detained Phillips. Sensational developments are expected.
