VIEWS OP ENGLISH FARMERS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, April 18. The Westminster Gazette calls attention to the statement of several farmers at the Tariff Commission, opposing the free admission of corn. The leaders of the Tariff Reform jnovement are not disposed to adopt Lord Rosehery's suggestion. NATIONALISTS AND THE BUDGET. London, April 18. At a meeting of sixty-five Nationalists', Mr. John Redmond presiding, today it was unanimously agreed to support the Budget. The O'Brienites have decided to vote against the Budget. Mr. Asquith denies having met Mr. Redmond before last Thursday's speech. THE LLOYD-GEORGE-O'BRIEN DIFFERENCE. London, April 18. When the House of Commons met today there was a crowded and exerted House, the Prince of Wales and many peers toeing present. Mr. O'Brien reiterated the details of his interview with Mr. Lloyd-George. The latter, in reply, admitted the memorandum was read at the second interview, hut said he told Mr. O'Brien that he was not in a position to make any promises.
BUIMET RESOLUTION CARRIED. A STORMY DEBATE. Received April 20, 0.3 a.m. London, April 19. In the House of Commons the Budget resolution was carried by 345 to 25*2, after an animated debate. Some stormy incidents took place. Mr. W. O'Brien vehemently said: "It is perhaps unwise to trust myself alone at a second conference. I made insufficient allowance for the sinuosity of the Ministerial conscience." Mr. Lloyd-George justified the Ministers' confidential interviews with members of all (parties. He accused Mr. O'Brien of publishing the part which suited him because he had had a quarrel iwith his Irish friends.
