Major Sir John Dickson-Poynder, D.5.0., .1.1'., M.l\. is the sixth baronet, the baronetcy having been created in ISO2. He was born in 18(15 a I'd succeeded to the title in 18S4. lie married Anne, the daughter of T!. TI. 0. Dnndas and fatherino Anne, sister of the second Baron Napier of in 18!K». He has one daughter. Sir John was educated at Harrow and Oxford. He assumed the name of Poynder oil succeeding to his nmternal uncle's pro|>« city in 18H1. lie was formerly a lieutenant in the :iiil Royal Scots regiment, and served as a major in the Wilts Yeomanry in tlie South African \far, and wearri the (Queen's medal (three ela*ps).
