DENTIST EXONERATED,

By Telegraph.—Pre3B Association. Palmerston North, Last Night.

The first enquiry held in the North Island under the Act of 1908 was into the origin of the fire at King's Chambers, in rooms occupied by Mr. A. liurnard, dentist, and over O'Connor and Fydcnian's jeweller's shop, aud was held yesterday afternoon, Mr Thom.-'on. S.M., presided. Detective Quartennan, finger-print expert from Wellington, and others, gave evidence that this was the second fire at th« same premises within a few weeks.

The jury found a verdict that the fire was caused by some person or persons unknown, and that no blame was attackable to Mr. Burnard.
