CLAIM ACAINST TIIK UNION S.J\ COMPANY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, April 5. The Arbitration Court heard a claim by the widow and crippled sou of a wharf lumper named Thomas Soleman, who was killed while employed by the Union Steam Ship Company, for •jE-l.'iS 5», representing 15G weeks' wages. Soleman was loading the cargo steamer Monowai, and when stepping -backward lio fell over the side of tin- vessel to o barge below, and fractured his skull. Bvidonee wus given that defendants offered to settle the claim, but plaintiffs' representative refused to negotiate. The Court found th« dependency of the plaintiffs established, uiid 11.wa.rdod the full amount dawned; less £fio already paid.
