PENMAN WINS HAMPIONSHIP. By Telegraph,—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The New Zealand draughts championship was concluded to-night, and was won by W. Penman, of Huntly, with Boreham second and Calderwood* third. W. H. Smith took first prize in the handicap, with F. A. Hilliker second. The points secured in the championship were W. Penman (Huntly) 17 points, J. Boreham (Dunedin) 16 1 /., D. Calderwod (Huntly) 16. The points secured in the handicap were:— - - Pts. Hp. Tl. W.H. Smith (Wellington) 10% 6—16% P. E.
