CHARGE OF MURDER
THE WELLINGTON CASE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. \t Wellington, Yesterday. CorkiJl, the bailiff, charged with the murder of Christopher Smith in Pipitea street, several weeks ago, was to-day committed for trial. His defence was Reserved. The evidence given was the same as at the inquest, showing that accused, who is an elderly man, went to the house in the execution of his duty. He had a scuffle with Smith, following which it is alleged Corkill drew a revolver and shot Smith, who died almost immediate^.
