FERRY BOATS COLLIDE
IN WELLINGTON HARBOUR. ONE OF THE VESSELS BEACHED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A collision took place in Wellington Harbour to-night between the Wellington Harbour Fferies, Ltd., steamers Cobar and The Duchess. The Cobar was proceeding to Day's Bay with 38 passengers, and the Duchess' was coming to the town from Day's Bay. The vessels collided oft* Point Jermyneham. nt-ar Rosenenth. Apparently' the Duchess suffered no damage, but thp Cobar began to take in water. Both vessels' steamed for the city. It was decided to beach the Cobar at Pipitea Point, Thorndon. All the passengers were landed safely. The Cobar is "now practically full of water. The nature wnd extent of her injuries are not ascertainable at present.
