The annual meeting of the jilectiic Light and Power Co. was held on Monday afternoon. There was a somewiiai, small attendance, only 19 shareholders ibeiug present. Mr. B. K. Nicho.is was in the chair. The report and balance sheet were read and adopted. The b.u-anee-sheet showed a profit of .CXX) Ste •>" for the year—a decidedly satisia. lorresult financially. Out of this « dividend of 8 per cent, was declared, art advance of 2 per cent, on previous dividends. The question of finance was then raised. The directors were recommended to consider some other mean 1 ; of finance than the present, _ so as to relieve the guarantors of their liability to the Bank for the overdraft. Nominations for the three vacancies on the directorate were then received. Only three candidates were nominated, Messrs B. H. Nicholls, W. Marshall and W. E. Richardson, and they were declared duly elected. Mr. W. E. Percival was reelected auditor at the same remuneration as previously. The meeting wa« concluded by a hearty vote of thanks to the director- for their past services and a. £lO 10s honorarium to each. The first meetins of directors was held immediately afterwards, when Mr. B. IT. Nicholls was elected chairman.
