BOWLING.
At the special meeting; of the New Plymouth fowling Club. held iHst night there was a record attendance. The •president (Mr. G. Grey) occupied the. chair, and stated that the meeting was 1 called for two purposes, to consider the advisability of enlarging the green on account, of the large number of members, and the advisability of making further rinks so as to give the others a rest, fie stated that a committee had'been set up to bring forward pro- j posals, and these would be put befoie > the meeting. Another matter was the . giving of a direction to the committee ; ,a3 tp the pro-per time to close the green.: A long and desultory discussion took ; place, °in which Messrs. Hall, A. K. j Smart. Govett, Morrison, Cock, Fraser, j Raw-lings, Mills, and others took part. Tt was decided that the whole mattei should be left in the hands of the present committee, also the matter of the closing of the green. Mr. Govett stated that every assistance should be given the promoters of the proposed green at West End. Mr. Grey stated that the committee would be pleased, after the resolutions passed, to gather information from experts as to the extension of the green and the time for closing.
