COMMITTEE MEETING. ] The committee of tlie Taranaki Agricultural Society met on Monday evening. Mr W. Ambury, president, was in the chair, and there was a good .ittendance. The date of the annual general meetinw of the society was definitely fixed for April 18, at 8 o'clock, in the Town Hall. The Grounds' Committee was in- j structed to go into the matter of forming the proposed new entrance to the exhibitor's paddock, which will now be to the east of the Star ground and the society's cattle pens, this' doing awap ■with the necessity for horses and vehicles to ipass through the crowd as hitherto. In connection with thp winter show to he held on June 8, 9, 10 and 11, the chairman submitted an approximate statement of receipts.' and expenditure, which the committee considered very satisfactory. The schedule, as drafted 'by the Schedule Sub-committee, was also read and confirmed. It was decided to insert the schedule j in the three local papers if possible, In order to have it well circulated among intending exhibitors'. Messrs. J. R. Hill, R. P. Cornwall, A. W. Wood and S. J. Smith were appointed a committee to canvas for special pr'ces. Already a large, number have promised. It is proposed to approach the Rail- , way Department with a view to exI cursion fares being granted in connection with the show, and if possible one or two social trains arriving in town about mid-dav on Thursdav and Friday.
