A GOLFING ACCIDENT.
EXTRAORDINARY SEQUEL. A DOCTOR SUED. By Telegraph.—Press' Association. Wellington, Last Night. Considerable interest was taken in the case in the Supreme Court to-day in which Frank Lcckie, civil servant, and his -wife seek to recover from Dr. Ernest Rawson the sum of £7BO as damages for bodily injuries sustained by Mrs. Leekie. The case is the sequel to an accident which took place on the Horetaunga links, Hutt Valley, when defendant, in swinging a club, struck Mrs. Leekie on the face, breaking her nose, injuring the frontal base of the skull, and severing the olfactory nerve, as a result of which she lost all' sense of taste and smell. The defence was that Mrs. Leckip had no right to lie where slip was, that defendant was not guilty of any negligence, that the accident was caused througn Mrs. Leekie breaking a recognised custom by passing over the tee at the back of the player without giving any warning of her approach.
