I PALMERSTON SESSIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston X., Last. Night. At the Supreme Court to-day, \Y. V. B. Pearce was found not guilty of theffc of cattle. The jury was three and a quarter hours' in coming to a decision. A civil action, Walsh v. Turner, claim for £SO damages for alleged slander, was settled out of court. Defendant declared that lie never intended to accuse the plaintiff of cheating at a team* poker tournament ftftween clubs from Pahiatua and Eketahuna, as had been alleged, and he denied ever having done so.
