TRUTH'S TROUBLES.

Wellington, Wednesday. Stephen Coburn, manager of Truth, who was found guilty of distributing obscene printed matter, wa« brought before the Supreme Court today. _ Mr. Justice Chapman said that he did not propose to sentence accused. He had considered counsel's request to state a case lor appoal 7ind had decided to do so. Accused was released rf)n bail.

Christ church, Wednesday. At. tlip Supremo Court Henry Bilt,cliff and Julian Hugging were each &enfwiced to five years imprisonment for indecent offences.

Additional ohargos were brought against William Williams, secretary of tthe Iron and Brass Moulders' Union, for alleged misappropriation by him of £l2O altogether from the Union funds. .Defendant appeared on remand in -Court today, when counsel intimat?d that a plea of guilty would be entered. A furfTier remand was granted.
NATIVE LAND COURT.
Tnvercargill, Wednesday
The Land Court has been sitting for a week to ascertain the natives' rights to the mutton-bird islands. Last season's take was valued at C 12.000, wh :, h was diviTled amongst 300 person*. The proceedings will pronably last till the ■end of the weelf.
AN ARSON CHARGE,
Wellington, Last Night.
At the Supreme Court to-night the jury disagreed in the arson charge against 'Eberhardt Ferdinand Renner, and a new trial was ordered.
