BLOCKED BY THE LAW

Wellington, Last Night.
Owing to the Shops and Oil'ict* Act prohibiting the employment of assistants' after C p.m., the New Zealand Industrial Exhibition, proposed to lie held in Hay and June, will probably lie postponed for a few weeks until Parliament meets and passes special legislation to get over the difficulty. Hon. J. A. Millar to-uay told a deputation there was no otlien course than this open.
