Cabinet to-day passed the following railway votes: ■ — Strntfonl-Ongarue, '.C4000; Cisboriie-Rotonia, £7f)o; North Auckland, £1771; Midland, .C'i.'jOO; Ilutt railway and road improvement, £12,000.

For roads and bridges in various districts £4700 was voted, and CW(H) for primary and technical schools.

A tender was accepted for the Otoko Valley viaduct on the Gis'borne-Motu railway. Tenders are to be invited for the progress works on Westfport-Tnangahua railway, and for the supply of railway bridge girders. The sum of £2OOO was voted for Improvements to the Porinia mental hospital.
