The president of the New Zealand Association,, Mr. E. Norden, durinj his recent visit to England, interviewed the Home authorities regarding the proposal, which had first emanated from an English club. With tljlLend m view I am directed to ask your Association to state whether it is prepared to guarantee the sum of £SO provided a match is arranged for your district. It ,must be understood that the money must be in the hands of the New Zealand Association not later than September 1, 1910. The whole of tke gate receipts of the various matches would i:e pooled, after the payment of such reasonable expenses as the New Zealand Association may sanction, and divided pro rata among the various subscribing associations in ■proportion to the amount ,of theii- guarantees and the gate receipts of their matches. There is every reason to believe that the team, if it should visit New Zealand, will be thoi*oughly representative." , The following proposed list of mafches with respective guarantees is attached:— Auckland, at Auckland (Saturday) £IOO guarantee; Taranaki and Wanganui, at Wanganui (Wednesday) £SO each; Manawatu, .Hawke's- Bay «nd Horowhenua, at Palmerston North (Wednesday), Manawatu and Hawke's Bay £SO each, Horowhenua £25; Wellington, ""at Wellington (Saturday) £100; Canterbury, at Christchurch (Saturday) £100; Otago, at Dunedin (Saturday) £100; Southland, at Invercargill (Wednesday) £SO.
