THE RUAHINE MEETING. | I By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dannevirke, Last Night. The Ruahine Rifle Association meeting Concluded to-day in brilliant weather. Ruahine match, 200 and GOO yards.— Rifleman Welsh (Opaki), 50s, 00; Vol. Govenlock (Woodville), 30s, Go; Sergeant Law (Dannevirke), 20s, 04. Fourteen others shared in the mirs'e money. Following are the first eight in the grand aggregates:—Govenlock (Woodville, champion, 280; Currie, S. (Ohura), 281; Eyles, G. (Dannevirke), 281; Neilson (Dannevirke), 278; Whiting (Wharcroa), 277; Ketts (Palmerston N.), 270; King (Opaki), 275; Law (Dannevirke), *275. Private Govenlock (Woodville Rifles) swept the board in the aggregate prizeiists. He secured the champion belt and gold medal for the highest score off the ■rifle in the four handicap matches, the Knight Cup and gold medal for the highest aggregate off the rifle in the Hawke'i Bay and Glengarry matches, and J. Franklin's gold medal for the highest aggregate, including handicap, in the ■four handicap matches. Benefit match—Rifleman Whiting '(Whareroa), 10s, 35; Rifleman Balfour (Taradale), 10s, 33. Nine others scored i 62. i Consolation match.—Rifleman Balfour '•(Taradale), £2, 33; Rifleman Stewart |*(Weber), £l, 33; Rifleman Cameron I {Opaki), 15s, 33. . The teams match was won by the Dannevirke No. 1 team with a score of ' '455, Ohura being second with 452, Opaki , 448. The Franklin shield was won by j the Ohura team with 452, Opaki being . r;econd with 448, Weber third with 435. Rifleman Williams (Ohura) tied with : Lieut. Nielson (Dannevirke) for the I ipurse for the highest scorer in the teams j matches. In the shoot off Williams won. Prizes are being presented to-night.
