AMERICA AND GERMANY
THE TARIFF QUESTION. By Cable—Press Association.—Copyright London, January 20. The Morning Post's Washington correspondent says the real diliiculty between America and Germany is not tbe admission of American meat, but Washington's demand for most-favored-nation treatment; otherwise the maximum will bo enforced. Germany replied that she was willing to grant, the favored-nation tariff, provided America by treaty defined the duties payable 011 German importations. Washington approves of the treaty, because ratification would reopen the tariff question.
