BEIT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS.

Received 10, 8.45 p.m. London, December 18The Senate ol the University of i/m don has'gratefully accepted Uoto Beit's offer to increase his late brother Alfred's bequest to £215,000 instead of £50,000 with a view to the bequest yielding an annual income of £7600. The fund will be designated: "The Beit Memorial Fellowship for llcdical Research." Scholarships to the value of £250 per annum for throe years will be granted auy man or woman of European descent, a graduate of any university within .ho Empire, who is elected to the fellowship. The board of trustees, including the principal of the University of London,..will administer the fund, assessed by aa advisory board of medical men Tho first election of not more than t-»n fellowe will be made on March Ist.
