An evil that is growing on New Z°aland racecourses (says the New Zealand Times) is the frequenting of the jockeys' dressing rooms and the vicinity by i'in'"•s'mble characters, guessers, and "otlwr hangers-on of the turf, and the sooner the matter is taken in hand by the authorities the better for all concern.,.!. These gentry are responsible f or mve harm than most people can imagine, and they should be sternly and immediately suppressed. As a rule, more particularly at country meetings, the jockeys' quarters arc not so eanaeious is to kfford space for all and sundry.
