ALLEGED ATTEMPTED MURDER
THE WELLINGTON CASE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, December 8. Joseph Williams', a farmer at Auckland, was to-day committed for trial on a charge of attempting to murder Francis Joseph Martin. The latter stated in evidence that he met accused, his father-in-law, in Glmznee Street, on the evening of December 1, and they had a few words about accused's daughter. Williams pulled a revolver from his pocket and tired at Martin, the .shot grazing the hitter's neck. The arresting constable stated that while taking accused to the station, the latter admitted the shooting and said he was sorry he did not shoot him dead. He also' alleged that Martin had ruined his (accused's) daughter, who is only 13 years of age.
