ENDURANCE FREAKS. By Telegraph,—Press Asboriatkra. Westport, Last Night. Mr. Edward Travis, R.A.M., succeeded on Saturday night in regaining the championship of the world in endurance in piano-playing, beating the record recently put up by Mr. J. S. Stirton, cf Westport, by three minutes, the new record being 60 hours 20 minutes. Travis played with a good deal of vigor to the end, one of tho pieces played just on time being 'iThe 6torm." there was a large gathering of the public, and much enthusiasm was shown when Travis passed Stirton's record.
ST. JOHN'S AMBULANCE. Wellington, Last Night. Street collections on behalf of St. John's Ambulance Association wove made in Wellington yesterday. The collections totalled alout '£223. AN EARTHQUAKE SHOOK. Feilding, Saturday. A short, sharp shock of earthquake was experienced at 9.31 o'clock last night.
